And today I tried to remove it. Well there is a make uninstall command buried deep... but just try it yourself! (Assuming the user has kept the source file in the first place). Not one instruction on how to remove SpamAssassin... why would anybody ever need to do that, right? And just look at this $ more INSTALL > Installing SpamAssassin for Personal Use (Not System-Wide)... > perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=$HOME Alas, one day when you then want to remove SpamAssassin, you will find it co-mingled with your other files. Next time I'll > Please see the file PACKAGING, sections "Changing paths in the Makefile" You should mention that doing that should be mandatory, unless one wants to spend an hour untangling things in $HOME, despite .packlist files. |
