The long-not-updated IO::Socket::INET6 has finally been officially deprecated. 

Here is the note from the ChangeLog:

 * Deprecate in favour of IO::Socket::IP.

SA already prefers IO::Socket::IP and also documentation implies this. I see no reason to remove INET6 backwards support from code at this time.
