SA Bugzilla – Bug 2090
Certain attachments causing endless loop in SpamAssassin.
Last modified: 2003-06-18 20:09:43 UTC
The following mail (http://www.sircd.org/sa-msg.buggy.gz) when scanned by spamassassin using the latest CVS version causes the process to never end and the memory foot-print constantly grows in size until it has used all the memory on the system. This is happening with a small number of mails on our server and the only common cause I can find is that they all contain attachements.
This mail is 3.1MB in size. As mentioned in the docs and numerous times on the sa-talk mailing list, you shouldn't scan mails of that size.
Subject: RE: Certain attachments causing endless loop in SpamAs sassin. Actually it is not mentioned anywhere in the doc's or in the website FAQ anywhere I can find. Anyway, I've added a condition to my exiscan / exim to only check mails under a few hundred K in size so hopefully I do not see this issue anymore. -----Original Message----- From: bugzilla-daemon@hughes-family.org [mailto:bugzilla-daemon@hughes-family.org] Sent: 19 June 2003 12:10 To: vincent.sweeney@game.net Subject: [Bug 2090] Certain attachments causing endless loop in SpamAssassin. http://www.hughes-family.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2090 felicity@kluge.net changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX ------- Additional Comments From felicity@kluge.net 2003-06-19 04:09 ------- This mail is 3.1MB in size.
