Even our own test case "block_text-indent.xml" exhibits the problem - we just don't test for it. So, I'll have a look at it. See http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi?rev=329797&view=rev For text-align="start" the available IPD was incorectly reduced by the value of text-indent. text-indent is modelled by adding a Knuth element at the beginning of a paragraph.
