Bug 60308

Summary: Does not display mails without a Message-Id header

Description Sebb 2016-10-27 09:34:59 UTC
For the record:

mod_mbox does not display mails that have no Message-Id.
They are stored in the mbox file, but not visible in the GUI.
This is presumably because the Message-Id is needed to create the Permalink.

According to RFC 2822, Message-ID is a SHOULD field.

I cannot think of any Email server/client/setup which does not do weird things if the header doesn't exist.

The fact is that such mails exist (e.g. see Bug 56113).

So it would be nice if a way could be found to display them.
