Description Andy Knight 2003-03-12 15:53:00 UTC
The kerning tables are bad for the standard fonts. When creating font metrics
for user specified fonts, I found that I need to use the "-enc ansi" or else the
user specified font has the same problem. The default CID encoding created key
indices that were off.

Does the problem persist under version 0.20.5rc or 0.20.5rc2? We've had a
number of changes in font support after 0.20.4 and we're not going to fix bugs
in older versions.

By the way, the standard fonts (Helvetica, Times etc.) have NO kerning
information at this time. So I really wonder what you mean by "standard fonts".

Yes, the problem still exists in 0.20.5rc2. At least TTFReader gave me the same
incorrect values as before for the font metrics, I did not create a document
though. Sorry, I was not aware that the standard fonts did not have kerning
info. I asssumed it was the same problem I had with user defined fonts.
