When i type "startup" in a dos prompt window, it says

The system cannot find the file -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false.

and Tomcat cannot start up.

Help needed!

Bugzilla is NOT a support forum. Please post questions like this on the tomcat-
user mailing list.
This works for me and plenty of other people.

You need to set JAVA_HOME properly pointing to your jdk directory
