Description Andreas Kuckartz 2004-05-19 12:12:06 UTC
I have a serious problem with Lenya at
http://olr.kbs.uni-hannover.de:8080/lenya/

When I try to publish a page (using MSIE 6.0) the browser literaly waits
forever for a complete response (I have stopped waiting after about five
minutes). But using another browser window at the same time shows that the page
was published as it should be.

I tried again today. The problem persists.

Forever is "only" a few minutes. What takes so long?!
Comment 3 Gregor J. Rothfuss 2004-05-21 08:23:33 UTC
no known cause unfortunately. we need more data to resolve this one.
Comment 4 Rolf Kulemann 2004-05-24 19:49:19 UTC
I also can reproduce this problem at my installations here at home.
IMO this is a serious problem.

May the release manager decide :)
Comment 5 Andreas Kuckartz 2004-05-25 01:45:21 UTC
There probably is a connection with bug 26564 ("WGet has windows file locking
issues"). I see the WGet file locking error when I try to publish a page with
1.2RC4 on Windows 2000. The browser does not wait forever in that case.
Comment 6 Gregor J. Rothfuss 2004-05-27 12:25:07 UTC
i disabled export on the default publication. and please, no bug reports how
export is crucial and blocks the release.. :)
Comment 7 Andreas Kuckartz 2004-06-19 14:18:48 UTC
This problem is reproduceable with the demo system at
http://olr.kbs.uni-hannover.de:8080/lenya/
Comment 8 Gregor J. Rothfuss 2004-10-26 02:20:26 UTC
roku do you think the flow changes you made could have a positive impact on this
one too?
Comment 9 Rolf Kulemann 2004-10-26 05:58:54 UTC
Dunno, but there are some more places where I get blank pages after action.
I will have a look sooner or later,ยด.
Comment 10 Rolf Kulemann 2004-10-26 06:05:07 UTC
Gregor, re the flow integration; what I did is very specific to the ditor
integrations and usecases, but maybe the underlying problem (see bxe save+exit
takes forever) is the same. The problem there was reading file A, transforming
it and writing it back in one pipeline. The problemis that file A is not closed
after reading and the SourceWritingtransformer then tries to write to the file.

White pages are caused by inappropriate client side redirects via redirect.xsl.
I exchnaged them with <map.redircet-to...> or inn flow with cocoon.redirectTo.
Comment 11 Gregor J. Rothfuss 2004-10-27 19:53:11 UTC
tested on ie 6 and ff, not able to reproduce
Comment 12 Rolf Kulemann 2004-10-27 20:49:35 UTC
Seems to work. But exporting is disbaled on publish.
