Description Mark Thomas 2016-07-26 09:34:46 UTC
Currently, JSPs are opened and read multiple times during a single compilation. The aim of this enhancement is to reduce this. Ideally, a JSP would only be opened once although multiple reads will always be required.

Hi, I have submitted a PR here https://github.com/apache/tomcat/pull/72

This turned out to be a case of premature optimisation.

The caching of static files by the resources implementation ensures that the multiple reads do not have a significant impact on performance.
