Description jacinthe.bouchard 2020-10-29 12:41:24 UTC
I am configuring a software called "STEP" provided by the company Stibo. I am exporting data to excel. And i got that error :

Convert failed with exception: Rule M2.4 exception : this error should NEVER happen ! If you can provide the triggering file, then please raise a bug at ..... and attach the file that triggers it, thanks !

I am not sure what file you want. I am just using the software to export in excel.

Thanks,

Despite the error message, this error happens a lot. We would need a file that reproduces the issue in order to fix this.
Comment 2 jacinthe.bouchard 2020-10-29 12:46:40 UTC
Like the excel I am trying to export ?
Comment 3 PJ Fanning 2020-10-29 12:48:54 UTC
I'd have thought this was more likely to occur when reading an existing file. If this is not the case, could you provide the stacktrace and ideally some code that causes the problem.
Comment 4 jacinthe.bouchard 2020-10-29 12:50:34 UTC
Nah sorry. I am just using a software and the window I see the error is called "details of the back-end process". I don't have access to anything more. :(

Here is the UI where I see the error.

No idea what that screenshot is. Can you this issue to the team that maintain that application so that they can check their app and potentially enhance the details on this issue.

Right now, there is not much that the POI team can do with this.

Ok thanks. Will do !
Comment 9 Dominik Stadler 2020-12-10 21:45:48 UTC
Not much that we can do here for now as there was no response back about the origin of the problem.

Please reopen the bug if you can extract a sample document and upload it here, with this we should be able to reproduce a potential problem.
