I am unable to apply updates to Netbeans.

Recently the little icon indicating that updates are available has been appearing on the status bar at the bottom of the Netbeans IDE. I've attempted to complete this update process several times, but it keeps stalling during the Download. It has a lot of files to download, so this takes quite a while. It will stall at different points during this download, so I can't point to any one being the problem.

It would be really nice if the download would cache what it has downloaded so far so that it does not need to redownload the same files each time I attempt to update. Better yet, if it could download all the files it needs in the background *before* showing the button prompting me to apply changes, that would be even better since I would then not have to spend time waiting for all the updates to download.
