Attachments: Shows that JavaFX 2 "Activate" and "Deactivate" are BOTH inaccessible

Description Lou Dasaro 2014-01-01 05:56:53 UTC
Created attachment 143545 [details]
Shows that JavaFX 2 "Activate" and "Deactivate" are BOTH inaccessible

This is a minor bug. Steps to reproduce:

Start IDE with fresh userdir and cachedir.
Invoke Tools->Plugins from main menu. "Plugins" manager appears.
Select "Installed" tab and tick "Show details" checkbox.
Find "JavaFX 2 Support" and "JavaFX 2 Scene Builder", tick them and push Activate button.
"NetBeans IDE Installer" wizard appears with a list of plugins for activation. Push Activate. Wait for the task to finish and then press Finish.
Untick the "Show details" checkbox.
*** Note that JavaFX 2 "light" does not show green (not activated).
Tick the checkbox next to JavaFX 2.
*** Note that "Activate" and "Deactivate" remain greyed-out (inaccessible).

The above asterisks "***" show the extent of the inconsistency.

I would also mention that activating Java SE at this point will cause the JavaFX 2 "light" to show green (activated).

Comment 3 swpalmer 2014-02-22 22:09:16 UTC
Still present in 8.0RC1
Comment 4 swpalmer 2014-02-22 22:12:02 UTC
JavaSE also doesn't show as activated in non-details view.
Comment 5 SIvakin 2014-02-24 10:12:31 UTC
The same appears for Windows XP for NetBeans 8.0 RC1
After manual activating of JavaFX 2 Support and JavaFX Scene Builder they ARE activated (I can create projects, it's not greyed), but Java FX and Java SE are shown as not activated in non-detailed view.
Comment 6 swpalmer 2014-02-25 02:55:12 UTC
Even though Java SE is also not shown as activated in the non-details view, the activate button *is* enabled when Java SE is selected.
Comment 7 swpalmer 2014-02-25 02:57:03 UTC
After manually activating Java SE, then selecting JavaFX 2 will enable the Deactivate button.
Comment 8 SIvakin 2014-03-08 17:22:38 UTC
Still present in 8.0 FCS.
Comment 9 Lou Dasaro 2014-05-23 13:36:04 UTC
Anomaly continues to be present in NetBeans 8.0 Patch 1.1
Bug is relatively rare use case, but I wonder if it is present during similar activations of _other_ plugins.
Comment 10 Lou Dasaro 2014-07-26 18:02:52 UTC
Anomaly continues to be present just prior to NetBeans 8.0.1
Bug is relatively rare use case, but I wonder if it is present during similar activation of _other_ plugins.
