Description Nico Max 2002-06-18 13:17:32 UTC
I have mounted a local directory with approx 10000 Java
source files in it. Searching through this directory with
a regular expression becomes as slower as the result tree
grows. After 700-800 hits its VERY slow. Also the search
tree also needs more time to respond to a single mouse
click. This should be improved.

Additionally, if "Prescan Sources" for java files is
enabled, it also gets activated for the search results.
This is IMHO not necessary, because the user is usually
more interested in the search result "as-is", and not the
compile status. But more importantly, prescanning the
sources let the memory consumption go through the roof.

Same performance problem is described in issue 19484.
