- open New File wizard (File | New File)
-> Help button is disabled forever
Comment 1 Jesse Glick 2004-08-18 22:56:36 UTC
Well is there any help actually available for it? If so, what are the
help IDs?
Comment 2 Patrick Keegan 2004-08-19 11:21:31 UTC
I believe this is intentional. We are reducing the amount of help for
things that are generally obvious. CC'ing John, who owns this area,
just to make sure. Expect a response in about a week when he gets back
from vacation.
Comment 3 John Jullion-ceccarelli 2004-08-24 10:03:56 UTC
Yes, for all Java objects, Ant scripts, etc, the help has been
removed. I believe web apps objects still have help.
Comment 4 Marian Mirilovic 2004-08-24 10:12:10 UTC
Ok, why we don't remove Help button from wizard then ?
Comment 5 John Jullion-ceccarelli 2004-08-25 12:51:17 UTC
Didn't know it was possible for the New wizard. But if some file
templates have help and others don't, it's a matter of which is worse
- the Help button being disabled much of the time, or the Help button
appearing and disappearing depending on which template is selected.
Question for HIEs, I guess.
Comment 6 John Jullion-ceccarelli 2004-08-25 15:03:18 UTC
ccing HIEs
Comment 7 Marian Mirilovic 2004-09-07 23:21:53 UTC
I think it's fine to have Help button disbaled (if no help exists) or
enabled (if help exists) , more better than hide/show Help button.

So close this one as fixed please ;)
Comment 8 jrojcek 2004-09-08 08:47:21 UTC
If there is a help associated at least with one wizard step then show the Help button even
in wizard steps without an associated help to avoid jumping of buttons when moving
between wizard steps.
Comment 9 John Jullion-ceccarelli 2004-09-08 12:55:14 UTC
Resolving as INVALID, then, since the Help button works as it is
supposed to.

John is right ... verified
