Description co11983 2006-04-28 17:12:41 UTC
I work on unrealted projects all the time and it would really be nice if
Netbeans supported the idea of Workspaces like Eclipse does.

For example, it would be nice to be able to launch one instance of Netbeans with
one set of projects open, while I lanuch another instance of Netbeans with a
completely different set of projects.

It was suggested that one can achieve the same effect with different user
directories. However, then one would need to manually copy global customizations.

When designing this feature, please consider an improvement over Eclipse, namely
to offer sections in the workspace.

When writing a book, or teaching a class, I would like to have separate sections
for each chapter or each module.

Why bother with a feature for book writers or teachers? Readers and students are
likely to try out what an author or instructor uses...

An even better way would be to allow projects to nest. Have a container project
that can contain subprojects (or containers for sections). That would be better
than the two-level organization in Eclipse.

that would be great!
