UI needs to be modified and use of deprecated api's removed. Not targeted for 6.0

Works for me on WinXP with Java 1.6 and NB 6.0.1 -- see attached screenshot...

even the windows case is a bit too wide... I guess this should be set to 6.5 or TBD

I am going to lower this to p4.

If we expose this in the v3 plugin, we will need to switch the subcomponent and raise the priority.
