Reassigning to "projects".
Reassigning to "nbi".
nbi module is related to the installer and has nothing in common with IDE itself. Reassigning to ide for evaluation.
from thread dump it seems to be either swing issue or dirchooser related. reassigning frankioski: do you have any steps to reproduce? does it happen frequently? any special (network or similar) drives?
I can't reproduce this issue and from thread dump I can't see any error in Netbeans code. i also can't see the freeze, system still seems to be doing something - gathering files to show them. I guess that some development version of 6.0 is used, not final 6.0 release version. In final release, we removed use of "shell folder" on Win OS because of another JDK bug - that loading of dirchooser lasted for ages - so this freeze should never happen in 6.0 final. frankioski: can you please add requested information and reopen if you can reproduce the bug, at least from time to time? Or is it possible that system wan't on total freeze, just that opening lasted for too long? See bug http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=109703 for details. Thanks.
