1. Create AirAlliance sample.
2. Open some PHP source.
3. Right click in editor -> Format.
Result: code is changed.

It seems logical that sample code should be already formatted.

Agreed :-) It should be trivial to implement except in case the user has customized formatting options - see issue 55509. I guess it is OK to ignore such a 
case though.

this is still valid and it is SIMPLEFIX, is there something going on? I don't see any activity for one year now!

@ppisl: If you agree I will "preformat" all sample files according to default formatter settings. I don't really think it makes sense to format according to users personal settings. You will get rid of this issue this way. OK?
