Description sunbiz 2008-07-24 09:39:16 UTC
[ BUILD # : 200807231346 ]
[ JDK VERSION : other ]

When trying to create a new BPEL, SQL or XSLT Module, when entering a

project name, the wizard shows that the Project Name is not valid
folder name. Thus we cannot move forward to create a new module.
Eventhough the project name is valid and so is the folder name valid,

we cannot create the module.

Steps to reproduce bug:
1.) New Project -> SOA -> BPEL/SOA/XSLT Module
2.) Enter any project name, but still says its invalid

It works for me with (Build 20080724083953 on Win XP and JDKs 1.5.0_14, 1.6.0_04 )

Could you provide more information:
Where is your userdir, what OS and JDK did you use ?
Please attach archive with the log file (userdir/var/log/message.log).

Could you try with a new userdir ?

Platform details:
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200807231346)
Java: 1.6.0_10-beta; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.0-b12
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on x86; Cp1252; en_IN (nb)
Userdir: C:\Users\Sunbon\.netbeans\dev

It happens when creating new project from SOA Samples as well. I did a clean install just today for the new build that
was released.

Just confirmed that the bug is indeed reproducible on my machine... I uninstalled netbeans and runtimes. Deleted all
folders (.nbi, .nbi-derby, .netbeans, .nbprofiler). Reinstalled again with all the stuff. Tried to create an BPEL
Module and get the same error.

I have also attached my messages.log file. And also attached the screenshot of the bug that doesn't allow to move
forward in creating the project.

The bug is not reproducible in build 080725, which I just built from the sources with the same user directory as build
200807231346. Modules can be created in 080725 and it does not complain about invalid project folder name. Something
must have been fixed.
Comment 7 Sergey Lunegov 2008-07-25 08:13:57 UTC
Not reproducible.
Comment 8 trondstromme 2008-09-25 13:58:24 UTC
can be reproduced in windows by setting the start menu to not be the "classic start menu" that is by setting it to the
new "improved" windows xp one, drag and drop the netbeans.exe icon to the menu pane (upper left corner) and starting
netbeans through the new icon in the start menu. if you start netbeans from the installed path
(netbeans_home/bin/netbeans.exe) this does not occur.
Comment 9 Sergey Lunegov 2008-10-01 15:52:09 UTC
Changed target milestone.
