A column 'modified at' with datetime on the 'Show changes' list of modified files could allow to sort files. 

I usually have many modified files on the list because I make sometimes changes and don't commit them before I finish
them. In the meantime I find a bug. Fix it in a couple of files, and then I must search the whole list for this files to
commit them. When I could sort the list by the modified at column I wouldn't had to search for them. 

I think You know what I mean. When not I can submit some screenshots or more description.

What you describe is a workaround for a lack of a special feature "shelve changes".
