Description mirouhh 2009-01-28 07:30:05 UTC
As working in Eclipse we like to use one IDE for all the things that have to be done. This inludes documentation too.
There is a significant amount of NB-Users requesting LaTeX support within the NB - IDE to fulfill the docu part also. It
would be very kind if we could get it as plugin or something else :o)

Have you tried following the instructions and using the module at: ?
The page says it is for NetBeans IDE 5.0 but it works for 6.5 also.

Source code, forums etc can be found at:

Please. I don't believe that NB hasn't plugin for Latex.
I like NB, but hasn't support LAtex. I work with LAtex and NB don't support it.

I'm also interested in Latex support in NB and use also Kile at the moment. Last check of Latex modul is +year ago. The
state at this time was o.k. beside some show stoppers. First, a tight integration with a previewer, like kile does, is
necessary. Other requirements are an integration of subversion support and/or Alfresco and a smooth path from source
code to latex. The last point would be helpful to write documentation and tutorials.

I agree, LaTeX support would be incredible. Nothing too fancy, just simple:-

- syntax highlighting
- button to compile
- button to view in external PS/PDF viewer
- maybe even completion on simple commands (e.g. \begin{X} gets closing command)

Value add would be:-

- hinter system showing where errors are
- click on PDF brings to text in document. Many LaTeX editors have this link.

I am moving the component to "ide" rather than "latex". The reason is simple... the owner of the "latex" module no longer seems to check their mail on this
matter. LaTeX support was moved out some time ago into a standalone NetBeans-based application. I've also CCd anybody who showed an interest here.
Make your voice heard by re-asserting your desire for this module!

@jlahoda I was recently pointed in the direction of which I understand you develop. Could you please confirm that this RFE
is CLOSED? :-)

Yes, the development moved to I recently rewrote the support for parsing API, and
there are still some leftover problems after this rewrite, see:
and its dependencies.

My vote for LATEX support. Many of us (and most of computer science students) writing documentation in latex.
