need Stop button to interrupt long waits from hanging chat logins when network connectivity is poor

warning the user that network connection isn't working would also be polite, rather than waiting a long time for a
mysterious timeout

Reassigning to issues@collab. Collab Support plugin is not actively maintained.

Obsoleted in 6.7 by the newly introduced integration with Project Kenai, a
collaborative environment for developers to host their open-source projects,
which includes also a chat service.
