maven support is calling the org.openide.xml.XMLUtil.write() api method to store the xml settings and in this case it somehow backfires, not specifically maven related. my guess is that this is a side effect of the module system logic which refuses to load a class from 2 different classloaders. In this case it seems the com.eviware.soapui.netbeans.module 3rd party module might be involved. Please try uninstalling this module (and restart the IDE) and see if the error goes away.
