Description gliesian 2010-03-25 01:26:41 UTC
Add the ability to mail files from file nodes in the IDE.

Use case: Right click a source file node. In the popup, select Send To | Mail Recipient. The file will be attached to a new message in the local mail client. User completes e-mail and manually sends it out from the client.

* Since this option may be used frequently by some, but 'never' by others(e.g., those sharing files with a VCS), the menu option should be configurable to be 'hidden' so the popup menu's real estate isn't always compromised. This configuration would be done in the options dialog box, probably under Miscellaneous.

Other send to option possibilities:
Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder
Send To | Desktop (Create Shortcut)
Send To | DVD RW Drive
  Send To | Documents

Perhaps the Send To popup menu item should only be present for file nodes in the ---Files--- windows.

Case Study:

When right-clicking on a file in Altova XMLSpy, you will see a "Send by Mail..." menu item.

This is a nice and simple implementation of what I am suggesting.
