Right click an XML file in the NetBeans IDE and you will see an "XSL Transformation" menu item.  Consider adding an "XSL-FO Transformation..." menu item with associated functionality.  XSL-FO: http://www.w3schools.com/xslfo/xslfo_intro.asp.

Note that this nice "XSL-FO Transformation..." feature is implemented by Altova XMLSpy.
