Description gliesian 2010-04-21 14:37:28 UTC
Request for a Visual XML Editor for XML (i.e., .xml) files.

Case Studies:
-- Eclipse has a Visual XML Design Editor through the Design Tab for XML files.
-- Altova XMLSpy has a Visual XML Design Editor through the Grid Tab for XML files.
-- <oXygen/> has a Visual XML Design Editor through the Grid Tab for XML files.
-- * The NetBeans "XML Schema and WSDL" plugin provides a Visual Editor for W3C XML Schema (.xsd) files, but not XML files. The following editors are provided for XSD files through the plugin: (Source | Schema | Design). Note: This plugin in not present on the core install of NetBeans 6.8.

I am not aware of any plugins that provide this requested feature.

Again, note that the Eclipse visual XML Designer implementation is in tabular format, while the XMLSpy and <oXygen/> visual XML Designer implementations are in grid format... having both features available in NetBeans would be nice. :)

Thanks.

It seems that the old visual editor for XML still works in 7.0.1:
