From a discussion on nbdev:

rootNode is one of the hints allowed by the property editor.  What I want is my
filters (dataFilter and folderFilter or whatever I supply) to work on top of my
supplied root node.  I think I remember that it was either one or the other when
I looked at the data object editor's use of the hints.

I see it as a bug only because I would need to provide a workaround if
this is not implemented.
