Reporting on behalf of Staffan Friberg, who says Maven project creation fails with the attached exception when you are behind a proxy.

I think this is a Maven issue, not an IDE issue: http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-proxies.html

Actually, this now works fine after the resolution of bug 136036.
