Bug 194580 - Path mapping / debug url is a nice improvement, but could be even more so with url mapping or at least a url memory, so the choice doesn't have to be made every time.

Description centsi 2011-01-21 12:47:57 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.0 Beta (Build 201011152355)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_23
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 19.0-b09

As my server contains include files and multiple sites all in /var/www, I find path mapping a great feature, but mapping between local and remote file systems is less useful than between local file systems and urls. It is also very useful to be able to specify the debug URL, but this can get frustrating when the url has to be specified each time.

A way around this would be to also have url / local mappings, so for example a file that resides at <project root>/sites/site1/site/index.php could be mapped to ttp:// as could all other files in the same dir.

Alternatively, a memory of urls chosen that could be selected from the debug menu would suffice, or even having the last url used selected as default in the debug url dialogue.

Thanks - Lawrence

Batch reassigning.

I second this. If you have path mapping for debugging on, then it's very likely that this is the case for launch configurations too, making the automatic launch feature basically worthless if you're using path mapping. It's been 2 years, any progress on this feature?

No, sorry (just one vote and too many possible things that can be implemented).
