STR: 1) Right-click on a file in Projects view, Tools, Add to Favorites. That is OK. 2) Open a file, right-click on it's tab. No such option there. It would be nice to have it there, because: 1) Clicking "Select in Projects", then doing it there is a bit longer. 2) Sometimes user has files opened outside opened projects, but wants to have it in favorites. Thanks for considering. PS: "Select in Projects" should be "Select in Projects View" to make it more clear.
This action is accessible through main menu, no reason to throw it around the whole UI.

"Navigate->Select in favorites" also adds the current file to favorites. And for this action a default shortcut is available. Done for me. If somebody still wants this in the menu a simple plugin could be created.
