Currently there is only an option to enable or disable auto-parenthesis closing. Disabling this also disables all automatic bracket closing, quote closing and so on.

Please provide separate options for auto-close quotes, parenthesis, brackets and others.

The option is a checkbox at "Tools > Options > Editor > Insert Closing Brackets Automatically".

Please provide a checkbox for each type of bracket independently.

This issue is present in NetBeans 7.2.1. The option is at "Tools > Options > Editor > Code Completion > Insert Closing Brackets Automatically".

When the option is enabled all ", (, [, { are closed automatically. 

When the option is disabled all the characters above are not closed automatically.
