When working with huge codebases, it is inconvenient to have the whole codebase open in the IDE the whole time. Having server-side support would be beneficial in such cases. In particular, Go to Type/File/Symbol may partially run on the server, as may newly introduced Remote Find Usages, all providing overview over the whole codebase without need to open the projects in the IDE.
