Created attachment 121389 [details] Button: Open in Search Results When searching in editor for a string that might exist in large number of instances it might become inconvenient to call Next stepwise until one finds the right instance. Having an overview available as if Find in Project was called might be practical. I offer the idea illustrated in attachment. While using the search bar in editor, pressing the new "open in Search Results window" button would open the complete list of found instances in the Search Results window, offering all its functionality. This would have the additional benefit of making it possible to click refresh after that what would open the Find in Projects dialog prefilled with respect to the current search - giving the user the straightforward way of extending the current search to wider scope.
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
