The current Netbeans ftp only allows you to download the entire site or individual files for editing. However what if you were developing a site that contains over a thousand files?

It took me almost an hour to download a site that ran on a Joomla framework (around 3000 files) on a decent internet connection. I think it will be a good idea to be able to connect to the server and view/browse the file directories without downloading them.

Double clicking a file will download it temporarily for editing and saving it will automatically upload it back to the remote server - like the current upload-on- save option.

This will be a time saver if included.

Thanks for your time.

I guess you are talking about PHP support, right?

I agree! I'm using Notepad++ for 'quick fixes', but I would like to use Netbeans for it as well.

Since my netbook has a small SSD, I don't want to download all projects I'm working on.
