When I open an existing UML model the root nodes Model, Diagrams, and Imported Elements are shown. All of them show a + sign indicating there are children. When I click on the Model node nothing happens while there are children.

If I add a new element to the Model, the node opens and all existing children are shown.

Added patch for problem

Included patch contains fix for problem that locally fixed my issue.

but as this one contain a fix, it may have sense to close https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=171788

will try to integrate a bit later or someone else with push permission can try.

bug repeats in netbeans 7.4 and 8.0
