NetBeans 8.0 delivered a message that updates were available.  I gave it permission to download & install the updates.  After Netbeans reported installation of the updates as complete I attempted to restart NetBeans.
I received the message:

    Error:  Cannot find class/org/netbeans/Main

Looks like my NetBeans 8.0 installation is toast.  Seems to have been seriously corrupted by the updates or the update process.

I could see no way to fix this problem, so I installed Netbeans 8.0.1 and
continued working.

I normally do not report bugs, but this one seemed so egregious that I have
taken the time to create a NetBeans account, to read the info on how to file
a bug report, & I am now attempting to do so.
