Description bugmenot1 2014-12-01 17:46:47 UTC
I uninstalled 8.0.1 without deleting my userdir. Then I installed 8.0.2. The window layout (I had enabled Javadoc and Action items) and the open file tabs are lost.
Comment 1 Theofanis Oikonomou 2015-09-04 09:14:53 UTC
When installing 8.0.2 was there an offer to import settings from previous version? Did you accept it? Was there any error during this process? Please reopen with additional info and attaching the log file. Thank you

Log file from upgrade 8.1 to nightly 201601200002

I upgraded from 8.0.2 to 8.1 and accepted importing the settings. Window layout and open files are lost.

Same when upgrading from 8.1 to nightly (build 201601200002). Log file is from this upgrade.
Comment 3 bugmenot1 2016-01-20 17:54:08 UTC
There was no obvious error message and I hadn’t noticed an error notification in the status bar (which doesn’t necessarily mean there was none).
Comment 4 bugmenot1 2016-12-19 14:05:12 UTC
I uninstalled 8.1, installed 8.2 and imported the settings from 8.1 by confirming the prompt on the first run.

Settings retained:
- Open projects
- Other configuration

Settings lost:
- Window layout
- Open files
