This bug was originally marked as duplicate of bug 243615, that is already resolved. This bug is still valid, so this seems to be another bug, but it might be related.

NetBeans 8.0.2, MacOSX Yosemite and JDK 1.7.0.
This exception occurs when making new PHP application project, or opening PHP application project.
I tried clean install, but not dissolved.
On NetBeans 7.4, 8.0.2, same exception occurs.
With JDK 1.6.0, 1.8.0, same too.

I found the solution to this exception error.

1. Uninstall NetBeans.
2. Delete (or rename) NetBeans configuration directory that ~/Library/Application Support/Netbeans.
3. Uninstall JDK with /Library/Java directory.
4. full-backup to TimeMachine.
5. Clean install MacOSX
6. After install MacOSX, then install JDK and NetBeans.
7. Restore backup from TimeMachine.

This problem should disappear if you:
- reinstall NetBeans, and
- clean userdir [1].
