Description krheinwald 2015-10-07 16:37:46 UTC
I am developing a Java Client/Server application communicating through sockets.

In 8.1beta, I could 'Debug File' the server and then the client.

In 8.1 RC, the client does not start until I exit the server.

Opening the same project in 8.1beta lets me do that again.

Regression

Reassigned for further evaluation. This is Ant based not Maven based project, isn't it?
Comment 2 krheinwald 2015-10-07 18:12:21 UTC
I think so - I created the intial Java project through the project wizard in 8.0 or 8.1beta.
Comment 3 Jiri Kovalsky 2015-10-07 18:56:37 UTC
If the project would be Maven based this would behave as you are used to. Give it a try if you want.
Comment 4 krheinwald 2015-10-07 20:04:03 UTC
But it's still a bug, is it? Otherwise I would stick with 8.0 or 8.1beta for this project.
Comment 5 Martin Entlicher 2015-10-08 06:38:02 UTC
Yes, this is an unfortunate regression.

Can be easily reproduced by an attempt to run two files in a project.
Execution of the second file waits till the execution of the first one finishes. This was not the case in NetBeans 8.0.
Comment 6 Jiri Kovalsky 2015-10-08 08:56:39 UTC
Must be fixed in 8.1.
Comment 7 Tomas Zezula 2015-10-08 09:06:24 UTC
Affected only by Compile On Save.
Workaround is to turn off the CoS in Project Properties.

I can confirm this workaround.
