Description RAM518 2017-06-22 21:12:09 UTC
Sometimes I just want to open a blank file and use netbeans like a normal text-editor, without the file being part of a template or part of a project or saved in a folder anywhere.

This appears to be impossible in Netbeans. File -> New File should just open a new blank file for you without making you go through a wizard. The file template wizard should be optional.

This sort of also relates to Netbeans extreme intrusiveness into my codebase. MOST OF THE TIME I just want netbeans to be a code highlighter. I don't want big red error warnings about code it couldn't figure out how to deep link and compile. MOST of the time, I don't want Netbeans to scan my project AT ALL, but it does it, whether I want it to or not, EVERY KEYSTROKE!
