In my case I already had NB 8.2 so it skipped that. Then I proceeded to install the JDK and cancelled afterwards so I could uninstall my NetBeans and exercise the whole thing.

The JDK installation continued until it finished. When it did there was no confirmation panel or nothing. The installer just closed.

Verified that the JDK was upgraded.
