User problem: ----------------------------------- -- User need: ----------------------------------- One of the help that the user needs during his work is not "how to perform something", but rather "what does this control do". The typical Windows "What's this" concept (cursor turns into a question mark and help for a clicked element is displayed in a tooltip) is a common solution in such case. Product requirement: ----------------------------------- What's this help tool and contents
There is extended implementation of Context Sensitive Help in javahelp v2.0. Extension (dynamic CSH) was requested by somebody from NetBeans I think (probably Jesse)because the first version of CSH introduced in javahelp 1.0 wasn't sufficent. Each visual component could have assigned help ID. CSH.DisplayHelpAfterTracking() is used by "what's this" interface. There is new API for registering CSHManager which is responsible for determining the ID based on cursor position, selection etc.
Reassigning to the new "core/help system" owner obarbashov.
Moving JH issues to Victor.
