This feature was removed in this version but it was quite usefull when working with more than one monitor. A replacement for that feature would be nice. I think of something like the posibility of creating more than one ide-desktop and draging internal windows between them. (That would be a quite powerfull feature in conjunction with workspaces, since you could place the editing workespace on the first and the debug workspace on the second monitor etc.)
Re-assigning Tim's issues to Dafe.
OK, do you have any other use cases then multiple monitors situation?
in 3.5 and earlier, I used to detach the editor and output windows and maximize them, using alt-tab to switch between the FS mount tree, output and editor. It's been a while, but as I remember it, this was a fairly productive setup for me on 1 monitor. I'd expect it to work equally well or better on a 2-monitor system (which I'm lucky enough to have now). It's a matter of taste, I suppose, but this is the one feature I miss the most from the good old nb3.5 days... :)
Thanks, acknowledged.
Implemented in main trunk, views and editors now can be dragged and dropped outside of main window on second monitor.
