Run menu has only 2 actions for running project (Run Main Project and Run Other) and the rest are actions belonging to debugger functionality. These do not have very much common to running project. The menu should be splittet into Run menu and Debug menu similar to NB3.6, or the run actions should be moved to Build menu.
Not a bug see UI spec: http://projects.netbeans.org/buildsys/build-sys-ui-spec.html#Run_Menu
Sorry, I don't agree with your resolution. UI Spec is not a holy bible to be followed. If there is a concern about UI Spec correctness (in this case it's valid concern) it is supposed to be discussed and possibly explained.
Hanz is right. It follows the ui spec. If you have requests for new menus file a Feature or Enhancement against project UI, make Jano owner of the issue and be prepared to have it rejected anyway.
I require analyse of the problem from UI responsible.
It seems you still don't get it. It already was reviewed by UI resposible person as it was designed by UI responsible person.
I'd agree that specs should be followed, but I'd also add that specs should be updated when there are good reasons for that. And I must say that it also took me a while to figure out that "New breakpoint..." and "New Watch..." can be found in the "Run" menu. Still didn't get used to it completely.
Agreed, the spec is strange on this point and it should be reconsidered. Reintroducing the Debug menu is one option, but there may be better options.
Yes, we will reconsider that. Btw, please note that Run menu containing the debugging actions is sort of standard in other Java IDEs.
Status of this? Will the Debug menu be readded?
Keep it as it is for now. As I said, the Run menu containing the debug actions is a standard in other IDEs. We have some issues with the "Run Other" submenu, but we should to wait for user feedback first.
No fix, nothing to verify :-)
