Description cezariusz 2004-11-10 10:53:45 UTC
Build 200411072021

I was trying to minimize memory usage by turning
off some module, which I don't use. Started
Setup wizard and unchecked many modules. After
pressing Finish I've been informed, that some
dependend modules must be also disabled, OK.

Apparently I've disabled some essential modules,
because most of my menu items dissapeared,
including Setup wizard and options!!! So I
couldn't reenable some of the modules.

In that case I've decided to restart the IDE,
but guess what - I couldn't. After few seconds
splash windows and processes disappear, leaving
only a bunch of exceptions in messages.log.

In my opinion IDE shouldn't allow disabling
modules, which are necessary to run itself.

You apparently switched lot of things. Looks like you even disabled
the Windowing system, which definitely is not healthy at all. (in fact
the IDE would not even show the main window).

We probably should not permit to switch off the infrastructure modules.

I don't think I have disabled the Windowing system, but maybe it has
been disabled by some dependencies.

Build 200509251800 just hangs after disabling infrastructure.
