Installation on Windows 2000. When installing on this system, installer failed to find a suitable default installation location (I have a dual boot set up with windows 95 on Drive C and Windows NT on drive d:. Normal installation would be to d:\Program Files and my user profile is in d:\Documents and Settings). When install wizard starts up it shows "Welcome to the Install Wizard for Error: Null. The wizard will install ERROR: null on your computer." There is no default install location on next page, although I can browse to my preferred install directory (in my case e:/java/applications/netbeans-bluej-5.0) Next takes you to the Lisense, which I accepted. Next page says "Click Next to install ERROR: null to this directory" (field is blank but should be d:\Program Files\... on my system I expect) I selected an alternative installation location using the browse button but after choosing Java JDK (1.5.0_06 in my case) installer fails with message: Errors occured during the installation + null + null + null The following warnings were generated + null
marek, please evaluate. This is installer related.
It seems it is InstallShield problem. Please try to clean folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal (or D: or whatever is your system disk).
There is no feedback from reporter. I think problem is not caused by different system disk (D: instead of C:) but problem with InstallShield VPD. This problem was reported before already. We have no fix for this. Only known workaround is to delete content of <System disk>\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal eg. C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal or D:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal
As there is no confirmation I assume it is duplicate of issue #67530. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 67530 ***
