Sortingbuttons detect columnheaders Status: Standard -

  • Open new Spreadsheet document
  • In column A enter: Number; 3; 4; 6; 2
  • In column B enter: Misc; s; d; f; g
  • Select cell A3
  • Press toolbarbutton for descending sorting
  • Verify that cell A1 still contains "Number" and B1 "Misc"
  • UNDO
  • Select cell B3
  • Press toolbar button for ascending sorting
  • Verify that cell A1 still contains "Number" and B1 "Misc"
  • Close document

Sorting default to selected column Status: Standard -

  • Open new Spreadsheet document
  • In column A enter: Number; 3; 4; 6; 2
  • In column B enter: Misc; s; d; f; g
  • Select cell A3
  • Press toolbarbutton for descending sorting
  • Verify that the sortorder was determined for column A (Number;2;3;4;6)
  • UNDO
  • Select cell B3
  • Press toolbar button for ascending sorting
  • Verify that the sortorder was determined for column B (Misc;s;g;f;d)
  • Close document

Stable sorting Status: Standard -

  • Load testdocument sortorder.ods
  • Select cell A1 and open sort dialog by DATA - SORT
  • Switch to tabpage Options
  • Check option "Range contains column labels"
  • Switch to tabpage "Sort Criteria"
  • Choose "Products as first criteria
  • Choose "Area" as second criteria
  • Close dialog by OK
  • Verify that the numbers in column "sort order" are ascending
  • UNDO
  • Verify that the numbers in "original order" are ascending
  • REDO
  • Verify that the numbers in column "sort order" are ascending
  • Close document

Sortingbuttons includes formats Status: Standard -

  • Open new Spreadsheet document
  • In column A enter strings "Header;green;red;blue"
  • Give the cells the corresponding background color (Header-default)
  • Select the cells
  • Press "Sort ascending" button
  • Verify that the cells are sorted (Header;blue;green;red) and that the colors still matching
  • Retry with different content (number, strings, formulars),  different formatings (numberformats, character attributs, cellformats) and cellbased features like notes or anchors for drawing objects
  • Close document

Sort Range Dialog 1 Status: Standard -

  • Open new spreadsheet document
  • Fill cellrange B3:D6 with numbers
  • Select C3:C6
  • Use Data - Sort
  • Verify that the Sort Range dialog appears
  • Press the "Extend Range" button
  • Verify that the Sort dialog appears and that the area B3:D6 is selected
  • Cancel Sort dialog
  • Select C3:C6
  • Use Data - Sort
  • Verify that the Sort Range dialog appears
  • Press the Current Selection button
  • Verify that the Sort dialog appears and that the area C3:C6 is selected
  • Cancel Sort dialog
  • Select C3:C6
  • Use Data - Sort
  • Verify that the Sort Range dialog appears
  • Press the Cancel button
  • Verify that the Sort Range dialog is closed and C3:C6 is selected
