Description 95217686d 2009-03-30 04:22:41 UTC
Menu File -> Properties -> Custom Properties

I added "CustomText" field from prior version of OpenOffice (Ooo3) but this
field is unable to modify in the Ooo310m7 now.

In order to modify this field, it required to delete all the field from the
document then it will allow to be modify in the "File" -> "Properties"

Cannot reproduce on WinXP 310m7.
The field can be directly modified.

Are you sure your file is not read-only?
Did you press F9 to update the field after modification?
Comment 3 95217686d 2009-03-31 05:12:10 UTC
Q: Are you sure your file is not read-only?
A: The file is not read-only

Q: Did you press F9 to update the field after modification?
A: Yes pressed F9.

Further information:
Try the following steps
1. new writer document odt
2. File -> Properties -> Custom Properties -> Add "Document Number" and type "0.1"
3. Insert the "Document Number" field to the document
4. Modify the custom field in the File -> Properties -> Custom Properties ...
type "0.2"
5. then you should find the value unable to update

It seems only affect the newly added field. If document save and re-open again,
it will not this problem.
Comment 4 eric.savary 2009-04-01 15:15:58 UTC
Lowered priority and target because creating, inserting and modyfing a custom
field *without* saving a document is not a common practice.
Comment 5 Oliver Specht 2009-04-02 07:15:42 UTC
This is a new feature and it should work. Target changed to 3.2, Prio changed to
P3. Reassigned to mst

->mst: I cannot even change the value of the custom property in a DEV300m41,
Win. I have to remove and re-insert the property.
The field in the document should be notified of changes/removal of the property.
