Cannot reproduce on WinXP 310m7. The field can be directly modified. Are you sure your file is not read-only? Did you press F9 to update the field after modification? Further information: Try the following steps 1. new writer document odt 2. File -> Properties -> Custom Properties -> Add "Document Number" and type "0.1" 3. Insert the "Document Number" field to the document 4. Modify the custom field in the File -> Properties -> Custom Properties ... type "0.2" 5. then you should find the value unable to update It seems only affect the newly added field. If document save and re-open again, it will not this problem. Lowered priority and target because creating, inserting and modyfing a custom field *without* saving a document is not a common practice. This is a new feature and it should work. Target changed to 3.2, Prio changed to P3. Reassigned to mst ->mst: I cannot even change the value of the custom property in a DEV300m41, Win. I have to remove and re-insert the property.
