Hm, I cannot reproduce this on my WinXP. The context menu shows up quite immediately. Two questions: - are there many fonts installed on your system? - what OOo extensions do you have installed? Adding keywords. I have about 300 fonts. After looking at the installed extensions during installation I decided there are to many. Now I have disabled the unnecessary ones and now the problem SEEMED to have gone away. After checking the same on another machine we suspected the Wiki Publisher extension to cause the problem. But now it seem thats opening <tools><extension manager> and then enabling or disabling extensions makes the problem go away - UNTIL you restart Writer. Ferry Can you test followings: - List every extensions you have installed now to be able to re-install them later. - While OOo is NOT running, rename your user profile: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org3 to something like: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\OpenOffice.org3_old - then restart and work with a new profile -> does the problem still happen? a) Yes: this is caused by the bundled extensions or something else: Uninstall each bundled extension, restart OOo each time and see which extension causes the problem. b) NO: re- install every non-bundled extension you had, restart OOo each time and see which extension causes the problem. If the problem still happens with NO extension installed OR does not happen with all your extensions: your current profile has a problem we cannot reproduce. Else you will have found the culprit :) Feel free to reopen when you'll have tried what I suggested. closed The problem is the number of installed extensions, that slowdown reaction of context menus. After starting and closing the extension manager the problem disappears. But you have to do that again and again, after you have started OOo. I have reproduced this problem and its solution on different computers under Win XP. But it's the same under Win VISTA. See Issue 88523. |
