create a new document, add some paragraphs, insert image. position the cursor in text, switch stylist to character styles. select image, then place cursor back in the text block - stylist is reset to paragraph styles. this is quite inconvinient when doing a larger batch of formatting

@MRU: I failed in finding a duplicate for this. All other known duplicates deal with "forgetting the style filter" not "category". This sounds an enhancement to me because Styles and Formatting behaves both contextually (automatic) depending on what is selected in the text AND manually (one can switch freely between Paragraph/Character/Numbering/Page when the cursor is in a part of the text) Please take over.

No, I wasn't able to find a dup, too. MRU->PB: the style category should be remembered when selection changes from an object back to text.
